The files declared classified and closed by the British in 1940, have remained top secret even after the independence, and have prevented the correct evaluation of the contribution of the martyr to the freedom struggle. Due to the tireless efforts of the author whatever files have been procured, these have divulged valuable information about Shaheed Udham Singh , on the basis of which the present research work has been advanced further. Though all the relevent files could not be procured, Yet the references appearing in these files clearly show that the bulk of files and material which was collected by the British about any single freedom fighter or a revolutionary.
