Sardar Sham Singh Attari The Great Warrior
Sardar Sham Singh Attariwala, the hero of the first Anglo-Sikh War, was a man blessed with special characteristics in his nature and personality. Though a close relative of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, he never evinced any interest in Palace politics. Though his son and daughter-in-law were suspected to be murdered in palace intrigue he remained loyal to the Sikh rulers and cause. In old age, on his return he participated in first Anglo-Sikh War. He suspected treachery of the Sikh Generals, yet he showed a determined will that he would either win or not go back alive from the war. Such a character is a big inspiration for the patriots and such lives must be read in general. This book is a humble attempt to give the prominent features of his life in brief. I hope it shall be read with great interest all over the world.
